The marking scheme for recruitment of Teachers for the vacancies advertised in August is available.
According to TSC, any applicant who intend to be employed as a primary or secondary teacher must must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission
Those without registration certificates must attach a printout of duly completed application form/payment receipt as evidence of application for registration.
(ii) For those previously employed details of their TSC number and reasons for
termination of service must be clearly stated (TSC/APPT/1 section 2h, 9 and 10)
Applicants must present original and photocopies of the following documents
(i) National identification cards
(ii) CPE/KCPE Certificates
TSC/TM/P/RG/001
2
(iii) KCE/KCSE Certificates
(iv) PTE Certificate.
Candidates without any of these certificates must show evidence of having applied
for confirmation from KNEC. Schools/College leaving certificates should be used for
verification of attendance.
(f) All applicants should be given equal opportunity. However, applicants with disabilities
may be considered on affirmative action so long as they meet the stipulated
recruitment criteria.
Now from above requirement, you can see it’s easier to be a teacher in Kenya, but I can assure you it will be hard.
As of now, more than 50,000 Kenyans have applied for the 7,000 jobs that were advertised recently.Remember, 99 % of the applicants are qualified.
What we know, persons with disabilities and those who have been jobless for the longest time will be given first priority. If you graduated earlier than 2012, then you have high chances of securing a job.
Those with second class upper division or first class will score better than second lower.
About relief teachers, that’s a foregone case. You won’t be given first priority; you are required to battle it out with others.
We can’t speak about bribery and corruption!
This is how the marking scheme will look like
