The cost of DNA test in Kenya depends on the type of hospital you visit and how you want it be conducted. I would not put an actual figure but the range, which is Ksh10,000 to Ksh50,000.
DNA test is important because it helps you to determine whether a child is yours or not. Normally, when the test identifies that the child is yours, the accuracy is 99.999%. Another reason why you would go for DNA is during death. In some cases, a victim might burn beyond recognition which requires that relatives take DNA test to prove that he belongs to a particular family.
DNA test in Kenya is mostly done by couples during separation, inheritance or divorce where one of the spouses wants to prove that he is not the biological father of the child.
There are many hospitals that conduct DNA test, they include Kenyatta National Hospital which charges Ksh 20,000 to Ksh30,000,Nairobi Hospital which charges Ksh 30,000 to Ksh70,000,Bioinformatics Institute of Kenya with average cost of Ksh35,000 and Easy DNA Kenya.
We had earlier listed hospitals and places you can visit for DNA testing, here is the link to the article.
If you doubt that a child is not yours, visit any of the above hospitals and research centers and conduct a DNA test.In Kenya, it’s estimated that 50% of men are unknowingly raising children who are not theirs. It’s paramount to know you are the real parent so as not to get caught off-guard later in life. I suggest that you do DNA immediately a child is born because the more you wait the more you forget about the process and embrace the child. It will almost be impossible to dump a child you have raised for years, even court won’t allow that to happen.
