Two Recce squad officers based at Ruiru were charged on Friday for demanding Ksh.300,000 bribe from David Otieno Ochieng.
Victor Mugambi Njoroge and Michael Epeyonon, were charged alongside Stephen Odere and Peter Kibaso for demanding the bribe from Otieno so that they can facilitate electricity connection in his house at Mathare Estate.
The officers were arrested on Thursday evening by CID Officers near EACC headquarters where they had gone to collect the money from the complainant.
When they appeared at Milimani Courts on Friday,they denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh50, 000.
The RECCE squad officers are known for their discipline and excellent military tactics that are admired globally.
They played a crucial role in rescuing Kenyans from the jaws of Al-shabaab during Garissa University and Westgate terrorist attacks.
