Raila Odinga and Orange Democratic Party suffered a big blow on Sunday after one of the most trusted party leaders Mohammed Rashid openly declared support for Musalia Mudavadi.
“I am the national youth leader of ODM and those who looted Mumias Sugar Company are in ODM. We were taken to court and when I mentioned the people who were involved in mismanagement of funds at Mumias Sugar Company, ODM members went to Maanzoni and agreed that I must be sacked,” said Rashid
This is a big blow to ODM leader Raila Odinga’s 2017 presidential race as he tries to reorganize his party for the elections.
During the time of defection, Rashid advised Kakamega Senator Bony Khalwale to join him at the Amani National Congress (ANC) party because ODM is a party of rhetorics.
Mr. Rashid was speaking during the burial of Philip Muchiti, brother to former Cabinet minister Soita Shitanda in Butali.
Musalia Mudavadi thanked members of the Luhya community for voting for him in 2013 and clarified that he is in the 2017 presidential race.
