Teachers Service Commission Chairperson Lydia Nzomo has stated that not even a single teacher will receive September salary.

Nzomo has clarified that since teachers deliberately absconded their duties in the month of September, they should not expect anything in their accounts. She added that those who are ready to resume duties are free to do so but they will only be paid for days they attended classes.

The TSC chairperson warned that those teachers who will not have returned to class by Friday 18 will be removed from the payroll and replaced with immediate effect.

Teachers’ strike has entered its third week and efforts by the government to convince them return to class have so far hit a snag, even the president’s statement that the government does not have money to pay them was not convincing enough for teachers.

It’s now upon TSC, the government ,KUPPET and KNUT to sit and agree on the way forward before it’s too late for KCSE and KCPE examination candidates.
