Some things are laughable! Yesterday Elijah Turyagumanawe, a popular TV reporter, was arrested in Uganda while reporting outside Kizza Besigyeโs home.
Turyagumanawe was arrested alongside his cameraman, Wasswa Hassan, after a commotion ensued outside the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party leader Kizza Besigye in Kasangati.They were then hurriedly taken to a parked police vehicle.
The two journalists, who work for NBS TV, were later released.
Even after being arrested, protests continued outside Besigyeโs home, calling President Yoweri Museveni to give up power.
Besigye has refused to concede defeat, arguing that Museveni forcefully grabbed power by manipulating the electoral Commission.
