Over the past few days, Raila Odinga has been facing nagging statements from co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula. It seems Raila will be left alone in 2017 after President Uhuru Kenyatta met leaders from Kitui on Thursday morning.
After meeting the top leaders from Kitui, the President said:
“I have this morning held a meeting with Members of Parliament from Kitui County, led by Senator David Musila. We discussed the need to tarmac the Kibwezi-Kitui-Mwingi road and my visit of Kitui County in the near future”.
The meeting caused panic among ODM followers and leaders, many of them arguing that Raila might be a lone ranger in 2017.
Reports reaching us indicates that Kalonzo and Wetangula have met twice over the past two weeks over what they term as, “strategic meeting”. The outcome of the meeting will see the two leaders forming a third force that will wrestle President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Sources within ODM say that Raila has already made up his mind, he will do away with Moses Wetangula, and bring on board Hassan Joho as one of the principals.Raila is also considering allocating Bomet Governor Isaack Ruto a slot in ODM.
