High Court Judge, George Odunga, has declared CORD rally at Uhuru Park legal.
Odunga, who has made landmark rulings before, thrilled CORD leaders and their followers when he declared that the coalition has a right to assembly and freedom of speech as stipulated by the constitution. He further directed that CORD should be allowed to hold a peaceful rally at the famous Uhuru Park Grounds.
CORD had moved to court to stop the police from barring them from accessing Uhuru Park during Madaraka day celebrations.
Earlier on , government spokesman Eric Kiraithe warned CORD against holding their rally at Uhuru Park, citing security reasons. But CORD, led by Raila Odinga maintained the rally is on despite the warnings.
