William Kabogo,the Kiambu Governor,is a rich man, so rich that he can buy freedom, according to his infamous statement last year. His wealth, though not in public domain is enough to feed generations.
The Kiambu Governor was born in 1964 shortly after independency. Before joining politics he worked as Managing Director, Tototo Home Industries where he invested heavily in real estate. During this time he managed to secure plots in several locations within the country.
At one point he worked as a driver to former Member of Parliament for Kibwezi, Harun Mwau, and later joined politics.
Punjab University graduate, who is a father of two, owns a chopper, a palatial home in Mombasa as well as a home in Nairobi. He has invested in hotel industry, real estate, stock market as well as transport industry.
His net worth cannot be revealed but he is believed to be a billionaire.
