Swaziland’s King Mswati is at it again. Shocking photos have been released showing the King testing women’s virginity publicly as he was choosing a wife.
The girls were told to lie down, open their legs as older women accompany Mswati in determining whether the girls were virgins.
Mswati later picked his 16th wife.
It is a tradition in Swaziland for a King to marry as many wives as possible. But the potential wife must be a virgin and at most 20 years.
The King marries new wife each year after carefully selecting from a pool of about 1,000 women. The women are then introduced as Mswati’s wives.
