Jubilee Party has short changed Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and fronted Dennis Waweru to wrestle Kidero for the Nairobi Governor seat. But Sonko is determined to become the next governor and here is what he’s planning to do.
Sources close to the flamboyant politician tell Venas News that Sonko is planning to run as an independent candidate, which will complicate matters for Jubilee.
The senator believes that he is popular enough and doesn’t need a party to win any election. The source adds:
“You see the senator has realized Jubilee Party is not interested in giving him the ticket. He has decided to contest as an independent candidate since he doesn’t want to disappoint the electorate.
If indeed it’s true the Senator will run as an independent candidate, Dennis Waweru will have a bad day since the senator has more appeal among Kikuyu votes than Luo and Luhya votes. It means that Sonko will take Dennis Waweru’s share, leaving Evans Kidero to thrive.
Looking at the three candidates (Sonko, Kidero, Waweru) and assuming other candidates will not be strong enough to challenge them, then Kidero will definitely retain the seat.
