Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga,Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi are in the process of making the strongest coalition ever. Now the three are about to sign agreement which will send the Jubilee coalition home.
It is believed Raila has shelved his ambitions to become the President and instead offered to support a strong candidate, who is popular enough to beat Uhuru-Ruto coalition.
On Monday, Musalia Mudavadi met all the Luhya top politicians to inform them about the agreement. After the meeting, everybody agreed to back Mudavadi and even offered to campaign for him from house to house to ensure he clinches the top seat.
Earlier on, Kalonzo Musyoka had been fronted to take the position of president and Mudavadi to take the Deputy President position but after it emerged that Mudavadi is more popular than Kalonzo, it was agreed that Mudavadi become the presidential candidate
The line-up eliminated Moses Wetangula, who is expected to join Jubilee in September 2016.
The complete list of CORD-Amani line-up is as follows:
Musalia Mudavadi-President
Kalonzo Musyoka-Deputy President
Prime Minister-Raila Odinga
Hassan Joho-Mombasa Governor
Evans Kidero-Nairobi Governor
Gitobu Imanyara-speaker National Assembly
Omar Hassan-Majority Leader Senate
Junet Mohammed-Majority Leader National Assembly
Analysts say if the line-up remains as it is, Uhuru will find it hard to defend his seat.
