The Seventh Day Adventist is among the oldest churches in Kenya, but there is a hot discussion about the church that is dominated by the Kisii and Luo tribes.
The culture by SDA members is very impressive, with the congregation instructed not to wear trousers, miniskirts, earrings, gold chains, jeans and tattoos. They are also not allowed to pierce noses and ears-very impressive indeed.
The church has been praised for being conservative, but there is something that makes other churches better than the Hellen G White Church, which is the inability to fundraise, follow the teachings, and attract more worshippers.
One thing that surprises me is that you might find a church whose construction started 20 years ago, still under construction, up to date. Every Saturday, members are told to contribute but the money has never been enough. To make matters worse, members only pay coins-mostly Ksh10.
We have more than 30 churches in Kenya, but this particular church is unique in its own ways. This is one of the few churches that have real hypocrites. In church, you might think that everyone is a saint, but when it comes to normal life, they are worse than the Kanyaris.
In SDA churches, there are not only witches, but also jealous members. The church is consistently not united due to backstabbing and jealous. Some members attend the church to see what you wear, what you drive, whether you have grown fat, whether you came late and if you are really normal.
Do you know SDA members don’t cook on Saturday? Do you know SDA members don’t eat meat?
Even so, there are few individuals who are upright.
But if everything right was to be observed in the right way, SDA could be the best church to attend in Kenya. However, there is a lot of drama inside the most reserved buildings in the country.
