In rich estates, like Karen, Runda,Muthaiga,Rosslyn ,Kitisuru and Lavington are a no go zone for the poor, but ladies find a way to sneak in-by renting SQs.Sometimes it’s hard to know where you can get such houses but if you interact with children of the rich and also property agents, you can get one.
Now, the burning question: why do women in Nairobi prefer living near the rich than live with the poor in a free environment? The answer is simple, a modern woman is not interested in getting married or befriending a man who is still searching for himself-she simply wants a ready-made man, who is only found in posh areas. By renting a room in Muthaiga, she will have the opportunity to interact with the rich and eventually get hooked up.
Servant quarters in posh estates have strict restrictions-you will be told not to check in past 10pm, always close the main gate, ration the amount of water and electricity you consume and also avoid interacting with the boss’ children, but Nairobi women believe their interests outweigh the restrictions.
At one time, Kathy Kiuna advised ladies to live near rich men, arguing that that is the only way they can get married to the rich…land they followed her advice.
