Nairobi is the 9th worst cities in the world in regards to traffic jam.A 550 metres stretch can take a personal car 2 hours ,simply because of traffic jam.But if you are clever enough, while working at CBD,you can choose to live in estates where accessing the town is fast and convenient.

When working at Nairobi CBD, there are estates you must avoid at all costs, such estates include: Rongai, Komarock and its environs, gong and Kiserian. Living in these estates will see you spending up to Ksh 300 per day on transport and also at least 2 hours on the road.

It becomes worse if you are a banker. You know, banks are strict, whereby you are required to report in time, not past 7.30 am.If you live in Rongai, I swear you will be fired because of reporting late, most of the time.

Now, these are the best estates to live in Nairobi if you want to spend less on transport and arrive at Nairobi CBD in time:

  1. South C
  2. South B
  3. Nairobi West
  4. Kasarani
  5. Hurlingham
  6. Parklands
  7. Kileleshwa
  8. Westlands
  9. Uthiru
  10. Madaraka
  11. Kilimani
  12. Jogoo Road
  13. Hamza

Of course out of the listed estates, not even one is ideal for individuals whose salaries are less than Ksh30, 000.Estates like Hurlingham, Kilimani and Kileleshwa are purely for people who are ready to cough at least Ksh 50,000 per month while estates like South B,South C and Nairobi West are for middle income, people who will pay at least Ksh30,000 per month.

Uthiru, Jogoo Road and Hamza have relatively cheap apartments, usually from Ksh 8,000.

If you manage to live in any of the listed estates, chances are that you will find yourself in Nairobi CBD even at 6.30 am.You will also spend not spend more than Ksh120 per day on transport.
