News reaching us indicates that gunmen believed to be members of Al-Shabaab have killed 12 people in Mandera town,Kenya.
The gunmen, armed with deadly weapons, stormed a guest house and threw explosives, killing several people on the spot and injuring several others.
Among the dead were ten people who were visiting the area for set book performances in schools and a caretaker who hails from Mandera.
The building where the attack occurred was badly damaged, and several people are still trapped inside.
Police have been dispatched to the area. Bomb experts have also been sent to the lodging, which is located at the heart of Mandera town.
