Terryann Chebet and Kirigo Ng’arua are among the big names that were sacked by Citizen TV during the restructuring process.
Sources from the station say that due to harsh business environment, Citizen TV, which is owned by Royal Media Service, decided to downsize its workforce so as to remain afloat. The obvious targets were individuals who earn the highest salaries, and Terryann Chebet fell into this category.
The former Nation Media Group employee was earning Ksh 400,000 until she was shown the door.Kirigo, whose career at the station had stagnated earned slightly less than Ksh250, 000.The two are now jobless.
Royal Media Services, which owns over 10 radio stations Inooro and Citizen TV, will sacked over 120 employees this week.
