Heavy downpour has destroyed a section of Standard Gauge Railway which is still under construction.
The mega project, which has consumed more than Ksh320 billion, will be completed in 2017 but months to its completion, several sections need urgent repair. The tender was awarded to a Chinese company but from the photo below, the quality of work is questionable.
Uhuru’s government says SGR is one of its achievements. The Jubilee Party, which Uhuru is part of, is expected to use the project to convince the electorate to re-elect them.
