Car Hire business in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa and Kisumu have reportedly made millions of shillings this festive season after town dwellers hired cars to their villages.
Most of the yards in Nairobi and Nakuru are empty, which is not normal. But this situation is celebrated by car hire business owners who say a single car makes them up to Ksh10, 000 per day.
In the month of November, the business was low especially in Nairobi but this month has seen several businesses making extra ordinary profits.One of them is Mr.Andrew who owns a car hire business in Nairobi’s South C.Andrew say all his 15 cars were engaged this festive season and each car was hired between 5-10 days. In a single day, he charges Ksh4, 000-Ksh10, 000 depending on the type of a car an individual hires. Andrew reveals that he has made a total of Ksh 1 million in the month of December alone.
Njoroge also owns a car hire company and operates from Westlands Nairobi.Njoroge’s company deals with top of the range cars only where he charges between Ksh6, 000-Ksh15,000 per day. The business mogul states that his profit this month is Ksh1.65 million. He confesses that even if he makes nothing in January, what he has made so far can feed him till June next year.
