As Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, continues to clean the education system, information reaching us indicates that the CS could order for the audit of certificates issued to politicians like Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and former Lands CS Charity Ngilu.Also in the list is Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Oscar Sudi and Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.
It is believed the said politicians, among others, may have pursued degrees without meeting minimum qualification from High School. And there are no records showing they pursued pre-university courses which could allow them to enroll for degree programs.
Sources say Charity Ngilu scored a C plain in High School while Mike Sonko scored a D+ but they were allowed to join local universities, Kenya Methodist University and St Paul University to pursue their undergraduate degrees. Meaning that they enrolled for their degree programs illegally.
Oscar Sudi is also believed to have acquired his diploma illegally. The former Makanga has never attended any college for a diploma course but he is armed with one.
As 2017 elections nears several politicians have joined local universities in a bid to pursue undergraduate programs. Some are qualified to pursue degrees while others completely failed in high school.Before they toss wine and party, Matiangi has vowed to teach them a lesson.
