Adama Barrow will become Gambia’s legally and democratically elected president from tomorrow 19/01/2017.This is after more than 30,000 soldiers from different countries across the world confirmed they will ensure he is sworn in as president.
530 soldiers from Senegal 1,600 from Ghana,100 from Sierra Leone, 1000 from Nigeria,200 special commandos from France,UK and Germany and 30 jet fighters will be crossing the border to enter in the Gambia purposely to escort president elect Adama Barrow to the independence stadium for his inauguration tomorrow.
Barrow was democratically elected president in 2016 but the incumbent, Yahya Jammeh, has refused to relinquish power, prompting military action to be taken by foreign countries, including members of ECOWAS.
Considering the small population of Jammeh’s soldiers, his position as president will cease to exist after tomorrow.
