A Kenyan court has jailed a total of six Doctors Union officials after they failed to obey a court order.
The officials were initially ordered to negotiate with COTU Chairman, Francis Atwoli and come up with an amicable solution. But they failed to agree. Today, at Milimani Court, a judge ruled that the union officials be sentenced to one month imprisonment.
A list of officials jailed is as follows.
- Ouma Oluga-Secretary General KMPDU
- Daisy Korir-Treasurer KMPDU
- Samuel Oroko-Chairman KMPDU
- Everlynn Chege-Deputy Treasurer KMPDU
- Mwachonda Chibanzi-Deputy Secretary General
The six officials will now be transferred to a jail near Nairobi and serve the one month sentence.
