Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua is dead.
The governor died at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London today after suffering from pancreatic cancer for more than 10 years. He has been in the hospital close to 4 months .In his final days, Nderitu was in ICU,unable to talk and walk.
Mr Gachagua’s brother confirmed that the governor’s curtain fell at exactly 2.15 am Friday, marking the end of one of the richest governors in Kenya.
According to his brother, Mr Gachagua died at 2.15am Friday.
The governor has been in London since2016, immediately after surviving impeachment motion.
Nderitu holds a degree in Law from the University of Nairobi and BA in Building Economics from the same university.
Before he clinched the governor position, Mr Gachagua was the Member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency.
Nderitu was a renowned Nyeri tycoon,who accumulated his wealth from his multi billion business empire,including coffee plantations.Before his sunset,he was residing in his Karen Home.
