Doctors from Tanzania have rejected Uhuru Kenyatta’s offer to replace striking Kenyan doctors.
A bold Dr Benedict Lugiye told the Kenyan government that doctors in Tanzania are comfortable working in their home. He further said accepting the offer will sabotage the ongoing strike.
“Brothers and sisters in Kenya, I Dr Benedict Lugiye from Tanzania, I solemnly tell you that there’s no genuine Tanzanian doctor who will run for that offer because it’s a total disgrace towards medical fraternity,” he said.
While answering to requests from Kenya, the doctor urged the striking doctors not to give up.
“Keep moving forward, we are in this together,” he said
Currently, operations in Kenyan hospitals have been paralysed. The blame has squarely fallen on Health Cabinet Secretary Cleophas Mailu and County government for mishandling the strike.
Though doctors continue to receive threats upon threats, the learned Kenyans have maintained they won’t be cowed-they will strike until God comes.
