Alex Mutuku is one of the brightest Kamba youngsters. The IT Guru managed to hack into KRA servers and disappeared with over Ksh4 billion.
The most important thing for someone in their 20s? Make your own way. Put yourself in uncomfortable places. Test yourself. Don’t listen to naysayers and to play-it-safers: mostly salaried guys with a paycheck. Even when they seem to be way ahead and you seem to be lagging behind.
Alex Mutuku graduated from the University of Nairobi in 2012.He did not bother to seek for greener pastures as he knew the path he would take to acquire wealth. Immediately he enrolled for several programming courses online. This is where he acquired skills for his current job, hacking.
From a single room in Eastlands, Alex started testing the security of various organizations and he managed to discover that KRA, NIC, NMG had the most unstable websites and servers. That is when he settled for KRA.
“Your 20s are for making your bones. Do not try and seek external validation. It is fleeting and fickle. It’s not the kind of feedback you should grow to rely on. Don’t settle for less. Actually, never settle for less. That’s the code I live by”, he says in one of his Facebook posts.
It is alleged that Alex was not alone in the job: cyber-crime officers are suspecting that some of the employees at TATA group, who are contracted to monitor KRA servers and develop the website are involved.
To continue with the story, Alex managed to steal over Ksh20 million in 2012.This was the first time he touched Ksh1 million.
Immediately after ensuring the amount was in his account, he started eating life.He moved from Eastlands to a posh estate, where he paid rent amounting to in excess of Ksh150, 000 per month.
This is where Mutuku lives,a mansion located in Westlands,complete with swimming pool and other facilities which only the rich can afford.
After the business started booming,Alex started travelling.In his Facebook timeline,he indicates that he has toured Rwanda,Tanzania,Dubai,Botswana and several other African countries.Apart from travelling,the hacker also purchased expensive cars and motorbikes.
We are informed that despite having such a rare opportunity, Alex never bothered to invest. His was to travel, make merry, buy luxury cars and live large as he awaits “judgment day”. Even when others were using their hard earned money to buy plots, build apartments and invest in shares, this boy blew his money through expensive jewelries and “toys”.
