Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has been appointed acting Internal Security CS to replace the late Nkaissery.
President Kenyatta announced this morning that Matiangi will start work immediately, adding that there is no vacuum in securing the country.
Matiangi will be responsible for ensuring there is peace and tranquility during this year’s general election.
The Education CS will double up as the CS for education and Internal Security, two powerful positions in the country.
Nkaissery gave up the ghost this morning after he was rushed to The Karen Hospital.
