Mombasa governor Hassan Joho is now called Bosire after he was installed as a Kisii elder in a ceremony held in Kisii town.
The governor was given the name and blessed by Kisii elders. The elders told him to feel free to interact with Kisiis and even marry one of their girls.
Appreciating the kind gesture from the community, Joho said in a Facebook post:
“Thank you so much members of the Kisii community in Mombasa for the kind gesture of installing me as an elder. I enjoyed interacting with you today afternoon and I humbly accept the name Bosire which you gave me as you pledged your support to my bid for a second term in office as Governor 001.
I have renewed vigor to match forward to deliver your aspirations and that of other communities in our beloved county. Support and vote ODM, NASA and our president in waiting Raila Amolo Odinga”.
Joho becomes the first Mombasa leader to be installed as a Kisii elder following his commitment and loyalty to NASA and Raila Odinga.
