Things You Should not Attach When Making Online Job Application

450

When making online job application, several job seekers attach things that are less needed by employers. This mistake becomes a recipe for rejection.

It’s advisable not to attach the following documents when making online job application

Your photo

Your photo should not accompany your CV unless you are applying for the following jobs:

  • TV news anchor
  • Air Hostess/Cabin Crew
  • Waiter/Waitress
  • Model
  • Massage Therapist

Even so, you aren’t required to send your photo unless the recruiter asks for the same.

 Your Transcripts

Attaching all your transcripts will make it difficult to open your application. Imagine someone with 16 transcripts, which he attaches and expects the recruiter to go through all of them!!!Even if you scored As in all the subjects, please keep the transcripts until you are requested to present them.

Your Certificate

You aren’t allowed to attach your degree certificate even if you want to show how you passed your exams. The employer is only interested in your cover letter and CV.

Your ID

If you are not asked to attach your ID never make a mistake to make it available to your potential employer through email. You should only attach documents stated in the job advert.

Documents you should attach

The only documents you should attach in an online job application are: your cover letter and CV.

When applying, try to make your letter precise and your CV attractive. These documents act as your first impression, so you should make them attractive to the one shortlisting.
