The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is expected to announce President Kenyatta the winner in the just concluded presidential elections.
Plans are in top gear, the podium is being set and printing of the certificate is underway. Anytime from now a major announcement will be made, which will involve the presidential results.
Results from 39877 polling stations out of 40883 place Uhuru top with 8053793 votes (54.28%) ahead of his closest challenger, Raila Odinga, who has garnered 6652058 votes (44.83%).Statistically, it’s impossible for Raila to overtake Uhuru, which means the next step will be to announce the winner.
As of yesterday NASA was demanding form 34As, which IEBC later uploaded into their online postal. That marked the end of the dispute between Raila and IEBC.
International observers, led by Thabo Mbeki, have given the IEBC clean bill of health. They have indicated the election was free, fair and credible and urged other nations to our example.
What is now remaining is to declare Uhuru the president and it will be done today.
