Former Meru Governor Peter Munya has quit NASA.
The Meru politician joined NASA last week but after realizing Uhuru might recapture his seat he resorted to returning ‘home’.
In a statement, Munya said:
“After thorough consultations with our party members, elders and supporters across the country, it has been agreed that in the very best interest of the country we support the re-election of his Excellency president Uhuru Kenyatta”.
Munya was expected to deliver Meru votes to Raila but his exit is a huge blow to the opposition leader, who hoped to get over 200,000 votes from the region.
Raila is now left with three co-principals after Isaac Ruto chickened out.
