According to IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, voter turnout for the repeat poll is 48 % but latest statistics show that President Kenyatta only managed 6.3 million votes, which represents 33 % of the total registered votes.
Earlier, Chebukati has indicated in a media briefing that the voter turnout was 48 %,but when top media houses like CNN and Aljazeera projected a 27 % voter turnout, the commission revised the figures downwards.
The turnout reveals that President Kenyatta failed to convince more than 13 million voters, which is worrying. It also means that if Raila convinces his supporters to avoid Jubilee products, the economy will suffer
The country is waiting for the final figures so as to determine who controls the masses. The figure will tell more about Raila’s influence in the country’s social, economic and political affairs.
