A teacher in Singapore watched his students curse and regret after failing exams. The students felt that there was nothing left after failing to achieve their goal. Their situation was worsened by parents who never understood the connection between life, exams and talent. Theย teacher decided to write this motivational letter:
โDear Parents,
The exams of your child are to start soon. I know you are already anxious for your child to do well.
But, please do remember, amongst the students who will be sitting for the exams there is an artist, who doesnโt need to understand MathsโฆThere is an entrepreneur who doesnโt care about literature or EnglishโฆThere is a Musician, whose Chemistry marks donโt matterโฆThere is an Athlete, whose physical fitness is more important than PhysicsโฆIf your child does get top marks, thatโs great! But if he or she doesnโtโฆplease donโt take away their self-confidence and dignity from them. Tell them itโs okay,itโs just an exam! They are cut out for much bigger things in life.Tell them, no matter what they scoreโฆyou love them and you wonโt judge them.
Please do this, and when you doโฆwatch your children conquer the world. One exam or a low mark wonโt take awayย their dreams and talent. And please, do not think that doctors and engineersโฆare the only happy people in the worldโ
