Martha Karua has thrown her weight behind the controversies surrounding the swearing in of Raila Odinga.Through a statement, Karua said she has gone through the constitution and has seen nothing wrong with NASA swearing in their leader.
“A couple of days ago, I was a bit wary of the direction NASA coalition was taking with regards to swearing in of Raila Odinga. However, after getting the privilege to peruse through the legal text at their disposal and as an accomplished lawyer, I must honestly say that they risk no treasonous charges should they make their intentions real. It’s time we the legal family told Kenyans the true readings and interpretationsof the constitution. With all the due respect I have for the Attorney General, Githu Muigai, his view on this matter is irrefutably erroneous. NASA is right on this – I must come out clear on this for future reference”, read her statement
The NARK leader is among few Central Kenya leaders who have contrary opinion to what Attorney General Githu muigai said few days ago. This week, The Attorney General declared that if Raila is sworn in on Tuesday, he will face life imprisonment charges, or at least a death sentence. His opinion was, however, rubbished by NASA leaders
