Raila Odinga has congratulated Harambee Stars for winning the 2017 CECAFA senior challenge cup. The former Prime Minster has also given them Ksh50,000 to share amongst themselves.
Deputy President William Ruto has rewarded them with Ksh 5 million for doing us proud while Sonko contributed Ksh 1 million and offered free transport to thousands of fans from Nairobi to Machakos.In the stadium was Sonko,who gave the national team Ksh 1 million. Alfred Mutua was also not left behind, he contributed Ksh 1 million
Harambee Stars won the coveted trophy after beating Zanzibar 3 goals to 2 in a tough match played at Kenyatta Stadium,Machakos.
