Over the past one month, I have received a total of 103 emails seeking to know how much money bloggers make per month, I thought I should answer all emails in a single article.
I have been blogging since 2013 and over this period, I have learnt a lot. Blogging has trained me how to be patient, consistent, disciplined and above all, a risk taker. In this small world, there are many things bloggers encounter but they are unable to reveal to the commons. All in all, this is a lucrative venture.
There are three main types of bloggers I know: bloggers who depend on AdSense, those who depend on affiliate marketing and the rest who blog on social media. Any of them in the three categories make money. But what separate them are their revenue figures.Essentially,there are bloggers who earn less than $100 ,who are the majority, a sizeable that earn between $1,000 to $10,000 and few who earn above $10,000.
Revenue is directly proportional to the popularity of a blog. A blog that receives above 1 million visitors per month earns more than one with less than 100 visitors for the same period, and vice versa. This means when you are seeking to know how much a blog earns, you first check on the popularity of that blog.
My blog started receiving 1 page view per day, it improved to 100,1000,10000,100,000 and now 500,000 per day. During this period, I have been monitoring my income and I have fancy graphs for my personal use (I will reveal my income later). I will use this statistic to make projections.
If a blog is receiving 100 page views per day, that blog makes $1-$3 per in that day, which translates to $30 to $90 per month from AdSense. If another blog is receiving 1,000 page views per day, AdSense revenue will range between $$60 to $150 per month. A blog that receives 10,000 page views per day makes $300 to $1000 per month. If a blog receiving 100,000 page views per day will generate$2500 to $5000 per month. A blog that receives 500,000 page views per day generates between $5000 to $10,000 per month. All these incomes are from AdSense.
Now let’s discuss about affiliate marketing. When it comes to this method of monetization (I am also in this category), one can receive 3 visitors per day and make $1, 000, which means traffic is not as important as when one is relying on AdSense. The most interesting part about Lindsay’s journey is that she has managed to build a six figure business in a niche most don’t think about – food photography and blogging.
