If you got KCSE results you believe do not reflect your capabilities and you wish to apply for remarking, you can do so by following this procedure.
Remarking of Scripts
Remarking of scripts may be undertaken by the Council at the written request of Heads of Secondary schools that presented the candidates. Requests from private candidates will be channeled through the Provincial Directors of Education or the District officers of the Ministry of Education. This means, as a student, you have to request your principal to apply for remarking through the Provincial Director of Education.
The Council will undertake to remark scripts only after convincing reasons have been given by Heads of schools justifying remarking of scripts for a candidate whose results have already been issued. The Council reserves the right to reject any request for remarking if in its opinion, a strong case has not been established. Candidates for whom remarking has been accepted will be required to pay Kshs.750.O0 per paper. The fees under this provision will be reviewed from time to time. Requests for remarking accompanied by the correct fees may be channeled through the Provincial Directors of or the District Officers and should reach the Council within 30 days of the date of release of results. Requests received after this period will not be considered. Other enquiries on results must be made as soon as results have been released. Enquiries received after 30th April of the year following that of the examination will not be considered. The Council decision on results is final.
