Ever since I started blogging I have written over 3,000 viral blog posts. Every week, I make sure one of my posts go viral. There are various tricks I use to make my posts trend, which I would like to reveal today to other bloggers.
First, what is a viral blog post? It’s an article that everyone would want to read, it’s shared widely, people talk about it and other bloggers copy paste. According to me, a viral post must attract over 100,000 views in a single day…if you ever wrote such a post, then you know how it feels when people repeatedly talk about your content.
As a blogger, you have to study the mind of your readers; you must understand what they want to read and what doesn’t excite them. Once you have mastered their taste, it’s easy to play with their minds. In my blog, there are articles I post and after one hour, I am able to judge whether readers got excited about them or not. Over time, I have changed my content to fit what readers want.
Now, here is how to write a viral post.
- Write about what’s trending
If there’s something trending on social media, make sure you are the first to write and share the information on blogosphere. But as you write, perform thorough research to add information that is not openly available. Normally, people will come to your blog to read what they have not read elsewhere, or to know more about the occurrence.
- Write searchable title
Our readers are not experts in English language, so as a blogger make sure your title is searchable. This I mean your title must have simple keywords which almost everyone would use to search the information online. And when you write your content, keep your English simple as this is the only way people would be able to feel the flow of a story.

- Identify appropriate niche
There are over 30 niches you can focus your energy on but only few niches could result to viral content. In my own experience, entertainment, breaking news, betting, politics and career are the main niches where you can draw your viral articles from.
In my blog, when I want to write a viral blog, I choose a topic from one of the topics I have listed above. What surprises me is that I may write a post and within 3 hours it has garnered over 70,000 views and in one day it receives over 300,000 views. Interestingly, I don’t share such articles on social media.
- Use humour
Articles that contain humour easily go viral. Regardless of the topic you’re focusing on, don’t forget to make your articles interesting to read. People like to be entertained, especially when they are bored with their routine work, they would therefore find solace in your articles if they contain humour and satire …but don’t force humour in your content, sometimes it comes naturally.
- Solve people’s problems
People have numerous problems, some want money, others relationship, others jobs, others health etc.If your article seems to help one group in solving their problems, it will certainly go viral.
Before you post any article, ask yourself, ‘how will this content help my readers?’
- Controversial content
Controversial content sells. Bloggers who expose celebrities and politicians often find their articles trending. But this route is dangerous as people would sue you.
- Unique content
Assuming that you have visited a top blog and read a very interesting content, then you come here and find the same content. I am sure you won’t even read it.People like to read fresh and unique content.
As a blogger, it’s important to bear in mind that your readers also read other blogs. If you continuously lift content from other blogs, within no time, your blog will have no readers.
In my blog,I sometimes post article, though unique, that I believe won’t get attention of readers,to my surprise, they go viral. The reason is,they haven’t seen such an article anywhere.
Finally, posting viral content may overwhelm your website. It’s advisable to host your site with the best web hosting company.I have referred over 100 bloggers to Kinsta.Kinsta is the only web hosting company that is capable of sustaining millions of daily page views. If your current host is a problem, move your site to Kinsta and you will thank me later.Click here to contact them
