High Court in Nairobi has ordered for a recount of votes for Embakasi East Constituency which Babu Owino represents.
Justice Joseph Sergon made the order in a case in which Babu Owino’s win is being challenged by Francis Mureithi. Sergon said that he was satisfied that Mureithi had given sufficient reasons to warrant a recount.
The judge directed the IEBC to avail within two days Ballot boxes and disputed election forms to the deputy registrar of the high court.
The loud mouthed Owino almost collapsed in the court when the judge made the ruling. The former student leader started talking to himself and sneezing repeatedly, but his lawyer, who equally looked dejected, calmed him down.Mureithi on the other hand was seen weighing air with his bare hands as he thanked the almighty for the opportunity.
If the court finds Owino cheated his way to become the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, he will lose his seat and be thrown to jail.
