Anyone of us has been rejected at one time in life. How did you deal with it? Rejection comes in different forms and ways, it may be directly or indirect but it leaves us feeling awkward and devastated. Every person, small or big, young or old has experienced rejection in one way or another. Here we have sampled some few ways of how rejection occurs and how to overcome the effect;
Teenage rejection
We can say little about rejection in very young children of up to age 14.this is because at this age they do not have so much to worry about in life. They do not hold on to friendship so hard and can easily change or create friends. High school going children could feel rejection to some extent. This is when they enter adolescent period where they develop feelings and experience a lot of changes. Parents come in very handy at this stage. They should ensure that these teenagers understand themselves and what they are going through. Make them understand that they are not the first ones to go through such experiences and that they should not hate themselves because of anything. You may find a teenager shedding tears because he or she cannot fit in some circle of friends or because he /she lacked something. Remind them that friends at that stage are not very important and that they should focus on schooling rather than friendship. Above all, parents should try as much as possible to provide all the needs that teenagers require so as to boost their self-confidence and prevent them from falling prey to negative influences from their peers or other bad people.
Relationship rejection
This is another serious one which has even turned out to be lethal from recent reports in the news. People should learn that no one is entitled to any other person. Love is about a choice and if the other partner turns you down learn to accept and move on. If anything in fact one should be very happy because if someone left you it means they were not meant to be in your life. It gives you a chance to look for the right person who is willing to love you just the way you are. We cannot deny the fact that someone might feel bad because of the investments committed to love in terms of emotions or even finances, but happiness cannot be bought.
Work rejection
How many application letters did you send before you were invited for an interview? How many interviews have you attended and you till haven’t gotten a job? Do you feel side-lined in your job by your bosses or colleagues? You must be feeling rejected! Let me tell you that this is very normal and it is only you who can get over this kind of rejection. If it is about job application, look at your resume again, how do you present yourself during interviews and how is your job; are you outstanding or are you the lazy type who cannot be relied upon to complete a task?
Family rejection
This is a rare type of rejection but believe me it exists. It may have occurred to you because things are doing well for you, you are favoured in the family or you married outside the tribe! It is good to understand that you cannot please everyone including your parents and siblings. Whether you please them or not you will be judged anyway so just do you.as much as we are supposed to mind the happiness of our families, relatives or friends, we should not burn ourselves to please them! Most of these rejections happen out of jealousy. Next time you feel rejected by your kinship, look beyond and live your life.
I hope i have helped someone out there; so do you feel rejected or do you reject someone? But why?
