The election of Babu Owino has been nullified.
While making g the ruling on Friday, justice Joseph Sergon said the elections were not free and fair.
The judge ordered Babu to pay Sh5 million in costs.
Babuโs win was challenged by Francis Mureithi,who had garnered slightly less than the incumbentโs votes. It was clear during vote counting exercise Mureithi knew something we didnโt know.In one of his Facebook posts,he said:
โEverybody will be surprised to know what is in the report after the scrutiny process. Final Verdict will be given on Friday March 2nd by the court. I choose to hold my celebrations until the final announcement. TUZIDI KUOMBA. Blessed dayโ
The level of confidence exhibited by Mureithi was worrying,even as Owino was celebrating.
Today,Babu was humbledย and after the ruling,this is what he said:
โOur victory has been postponed. We will come back stronger than before. God bless Embakasi Eastโ
What we foresee is,Babu will lose to Mureithi.
