There is a huge crisis in Nairobi…more than half of women aged above 30 in this city are single and desperate. Men on the other hand are not in a hurry to marry, they say, “who will marry desperate and spent cartridge”
In less than 7 years ago, this idea was fronted by the so called independent women : “I am single, independent and happy,I don’t need a man”. Coupled with wrong advice from the likes of Mutoko,our women thought putting into action the words would make them both men and women—they lost direction. Over time,they have been seeing men as thrash, to the extent of dumping men like garbage. But it has reached a time reality has downed on them,”I have a job,I have everything, I am ageing but I lack company. The worst part is that their well-mannered friends have been married (you know when a lady is taken, she becomes so engrossed with her family that she forgets friends).Loneliness has set in and men have shunned them for younger women.
The sad reality is that this woman is ready to cling to any man.Even with slightest mention of the word marriage, she will sneak into the conversation to attract a man’s attention.
Seven good years of skin bleaching,10 good years of saying,” men are dogs,I have my own money, I don’t need them”,she is now ready to settle with any man.But reality is, “her male age mates want younger ladies, perhaps fresh from college.What’s remaining for the 30+ women are bad boys, players and irresponsible men .By the way,if you find a single man aged above 35 , avoid that man as a plague-he is a serial player.I am trying to imagine how a player and a woman with unrealistic expectations will survive in a house!
Now that there is this crisis, what next for this 33-year-old woman? Maybe she looks for a man to give her children and take her to court for child support.Alternatively,settle as a second wife…or continue feasting on other men with her full eyes as she prays for imaginary MR right.
