Treating your house help right is the only assurance that she will take care of your children in a proper manner. There are many mistakes young mothers make that lead to detrimental consequences.
If you are a young mother,here are tips on how to treat your househelp.
1.Never quarrel a house help in the morning and leave her with your child
2.If your child( if a child can talk) tells you that the help is beating them quietly start looking for another help and get rid of that one. Do not ignore your children.
3.Trust your instincts about a househelp. If it quacks like a duck then itโs a duck.
4.Do not think your househelp is superwoman. Ensure you donโt overwork her.You expect them to clean house wash clothes cook food and still feed your baby without any faults!!!
- Give your househelps some slack.Stop discriminating her such that you deny her enough food and refuse to allow her watch TV .Afterall,she is taking care of your property.
- Learn to sit and just chat with your househelp, you will know their values, their beliefs and get to know if those are the values you want passed on to your children.
- Give them time off. This will ensure they get more energy and psych to continue working for you.So what if they have a boyfriend too( provided itโs not your husband!!!!).Give them a life.
- Ensure the husband has NO ROLE in affairs of the house help.
- PAY THEM ON TIME!!!
- Allow them time to visit home at least once a year.
- Make them part of the family. Donโt show them open discrimination—they are also human.
- Make them feel they are better than other househelps by providing privileges other homes donโt provide. By doing so, you close all chances of her crossing over to another house.
