The HJFMRI has a vacancy for a HTS and PMTCT Services Coordinator.

Job Summary: Under the Prevention and Clinical Managers, the Officer will coordinate HIV Testing Services (HTS) and HIV Prevention of Mother to Child transmission (PMTCT) services in the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) HIV program through the Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research International, Inc (HJFMRI).

The position involves working with the Kenya Defense Forces, PEPFAR partners, relevant stakeholders, and government departments to ensure provision of quality services.

S/he will assist the program managers to offer technical assistance to KDF PEPFAR program on HTS and PMTCT. Technical duties include supporting efforts to ensure that HTS and PMTCT services are based on the most recent, relevant and science-based approaches, particularly identification and linkage of HIV Infected individuals to treatment.

S/he will support effective implementation, management, and monitoring of the PMTCT to include Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) component to ensure that the KDF PEPFAR program achieves annual targets and results.

HIV Testing Services (HTS) Job Requirements:

  • Diploma, higher diploma in Clinical medicine or Degree in Nursing
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years of successful experience in implementing complex, integrated public health programs; experience in HIV Testing Services and Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) ¡s preferred
  • Be conversant with Kenyan policies and guidelines in HIV prevention, particularly on HTS and PMTCT
