Equatorial Horti fresh Ltd (EHL) is a leading Small and Medium Agro-enterprise (SME), based at Chepkoilel junction, 6km from Eldoret town. EHL works closely with organized smallholder farmers to provide agricultural extension services, marketing services and access to inputs .EHL is an active value chain actor in Western Kenya whose mission is to address the production and post-harvest handling constrains through the provision of specialist extension services on crop production, agribusiness skills, marketing and access to financial services for improved income and nutrition. EHL working in collaboration with USAID KCDMS seeks to recruit a team of qualified and dynamic personnel in the following areas:

  1. Chief Agronomist
  2. Agronomists (4)
  3. Field Assistants Extension (2)
  4. Accountant (1)
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1)
  6. Collection Clerks (6)

CHIEF AGRONOMIST:  

REQUIREMENTS

Must be an accomplished Agronomist with project management expertise. Knowledge of USAID reporting requirements is mandatory. Must have a business orientation and be a team player of high integrity.

AGRONOMISTS-4 (1. KAKAMEGA, 1. VIHIGA 1. KISII & 1.BUNGOMA.)

They will be posted to serve in either of the four counties as agronomists, who will be required to provide extension and training services to the small holder farmers participating in the program on the crop productivity and the production planning, safe use of pesticides, export quality specification, postharvest handling and household nutrition.

REQUIREMENTS

A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural economics or any related specifications. Experience working with smallholders and specifically horticulture will be an advantage.

The Agronomists’ main responsibilities will be to address the production and post-harvest handling constraints through field extension visit and trainings.

FIELD ASSISTANTS

They will support the agronomist in one of the counties (Vihiga, Kakamega, Kisii or Bungoma).

REQUIREMENTS

A Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture, Horticulture with experience in implementing smallholder projects in the community will be a definite advantage.

Extensive experience working in the North Rift will be an advantage.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION -1 (M&E) SPECIALIST

She/he will monitor the implementation of the deliverables as scheduled in the scope of the work, carry out impact assessment of all the production and Post-Harvest management interventions.

This position requires a Diploma or Degree qualifications in Agricultural economics, Statistics or Development studies or any related. Experience working with farmers in the communities collecting and analysing data will be a definite advantage. Experience of carrying out surveys is a must.

ACCOUNTANT

She/he should possess Accounting credentials with the ability to prepare a payroll, prepare payment vouchers and be conversant with relevant accounting packages and software.

COLLECTION CLERKS

KCSE certificate with proficiency in numbers. Must reside in the project area either Vihiga, Kakamega, Kisii or Bungoma.
