A source at Sportpesa has intimated to Venas News that a major announcement will be made by CEO Captain Karauri before the end of this week. The announcement will shake the gambling industry and perhaps break the hearts of many gamblers who have been waiting for the giant betting company to resume operations.
A lot of discussions have been happening behind the scenes and Sportspesa Care team were strictly instructed not to make any announcement on social media until white smoke comes from the discussion between Sportpesa and the government. Since Captain Karauri announced last week that discussions are in top gear, nobody has updated the public on what’s going on between the betting company and government.
From our own assessment and predictions, Sportpesa will resume before Friday next week before the English Premier League resumes. We talked to a highly placed representative from one of the 27 betting companies that were closed 2 weeks ago and he confirmed that 99% of those companies will resume normal operations. What they are actually doing is to ensure their systems are compliant with government tax demands—henceforth gamblers will be deducted 10% of their deposit automatically.
