Breaking News from Betin indicate that the company has sacked all its employees in the country. The decision was reached this week after negotiation between the betting firm and the government hit a dead end.
Through a Memo written to staff members, the management indicated that the government’s decision to close the company’s paybill numbers impacted their business negatively, hence denying it revenue. The memo further said that since it’s not generating any revenue, it won’t be economical to keep their workers, hence retrenchment.
The Memo concluded that all workers should leave Betin premises by 1st October 2019.The company is also expected to close all shops in the country and close all operations to concentrate on other countries.
Betin is among 27 betting companies whose paybill numbers were closed in July this year, others include 1XBET, Betway and Sportpesa. But Betway has since resumed operations while 1XBET is struggling to get its paybill reinstated. Sportpesa has announced that it will be back to business anytime from now.We understand that it applied for renewal of its license and it might take up to one month of the government to consider their request. The firm was cleared by KRa,meaning that they were given a clean bill of health—there’s no excuse of denying them a license.
Currently, it’s Bet254, Odibets,Betika,Betway and other small companies which are operating in the country. In the absence of Sportpesa and Betin,Betika and Odibets are the leading betting sites in the country.
