Construction of Mombasa Road Begins

President Uhuru Kenyatta has commissioned the construction of Nairobi Expressway, a project that will cost Ksh 51 billion.

The Road will link several roads within the city and it will stretch 27 kilometers.

“Today the president will be launching the start of construction of the Nairobi Expressway. This project will start at Mlolongo and terminates at the James Gichuru junction (a total length of approximately 27Km)

The project shall be implemented under the Public Private Partnership initiative as a toll road.

The Nairobi Express Way will be elevated near Ole Sereni through the City Center along Uhuru highway up to James Gichuru junction”, KeNHA confirmed

As the construction begins, there will be heavy traffic jam along the highway, most vehicles will start using Jogoo Road.
