Mediamax Network Ltd was initially owned by Kenyatta family but most of its shares were sold to William Ruto in 2018.The company, particularly K24,was a vehicle that President Uhuru used to pass the message to his followers as well as the opposition strongholds between 2013 and 2017. Any serious politician knows that having a media company is important because it will enable you to reach out to as many people as possible.
Mediamax owns K24 TV, Kameme TV, Kameme Radio, People Daily Newspaper and Milele FM.The company acquired each of the companies at separate times until they formed a mainstream media.
Since President Uhuru Kenyatta does not need any marketing as he is about to complete his second term, he saw it fit to sell most of the Mediamax Network Limited shares to William Ruto.Mediamax is now firmly under William Ruto who has started recruiting staff that will help him pass a message to a wide audience within the country as he prepares to take over the presidency from Uhuru. The Deputy President started by acquiring K24 and later acquired most of the radio and TV stations which are under Mediamax Network Limited.
Mediamax is the fourth biggest media house in the country after Royal Media Services, Nation Media Group and Standard Media Group.
