Early Life
Jalango was born on April 27, 1978, in Kisumu, Kenya, with a very humble background. His parents were native farmers who lived simple life. They couldn’t afford food, and he would attend school barefoot with no lunch, which resorted him to drinking water.
Education
He began his schooling at Homabay Lake Primary School, where he passed his O levels and was called to Maseno National school. However, due to financial problems, he could not attend the national school and he ended up in Nyangoma Boys, where he scored a C+. He got the opportunity to school at Nyangoma Boys after his elder brother George was forced to drop out to study.
After becoming a household name and a jack of all trades, he made the bold move of enhancing his career. He undertook an undergraduate degree, and on November 13, 2020, he graduated from Daystar University with a degree in Community Development.
Career
At 23 years, Jalango worked as a fisherman and a fishmonger in Home Bay Town at Capital Fish Company Limited. After coming to Nairobi, he used to stay with relatives in different slums, and he would do all types of jobs to make a living. He began his acting career at the Kenya National Theatre, performing set books. He graduated into plays, and that’s when he got his breakthrough on Citizen TV’s Program Papa Shirandula.
Jalango started his radio career as a radio presenter at Ramogi FM, doing voiceovers. In 2009, he secured a job at Kiss 100, and on the same day, his dad passed away. After three years, he moved to Radio Maisha, where he paired with Alex Mwakideu for five years and moved to HOT96. After one year, he joined Milele FM alongside Mwakideu and after the dawn of the Corona virus, he got fired.
Kiss 100 FM recalled Jalango and he got the opportunity to work with Kamene Goro for the morning breakfast show. A few months later, he started his YouTube channel called Bonga na Jalas, which took Kenyans by the storm.
Wealth
Over the years, he has amassed numerous wealth and doesn’t shy from flaunting his hard-earned money. He owns a mansion in Nairobi, a rural mansion, and many luxurious cars. He drives a Mercedes convertible, Range Rover Velar, Toyota V8, Mercedes V-Class, and a Land Rover Discovery. In a recent interview, he admitted to renting his cars to earn money.
He is estimated to be worth about Ksh 50 million.
Jalango houses
Jalango owns two houses,one in Nairobi and another one in the village. He completed his village house by spending over Ksh5 million.
Jalango also owns apartments in Nairobi which generate over Ksh500,000 monthly.

Family
Jalango is a family man, and he is married to his beautiful wife, Amina Chao. They have two kids, and he got his firstborn daughter named Salika with Cheptoek Boyo. On numerous occasions, the two co-parent and Jalango admitted to being part of his daughter’s life.

The actor declared he would be contesting for the Lang’ata constituency parliamentary seat come August 9, 2022. He will be vying on an ODM ticket, which is no surprise because he has been a stronger party supporter.
