A 5 storey building has just collapsed in Kinoo.The building was being constructed by stable engineers and it was almost complete. The owner,Mayten Limited was about to start collecting over Ksh500,000 per month in rent. But because of poor foundation, thanks to Stable Engineers and Petacon Designs, the building collapsed in the wee hours of Sunday.
The unfortunate thing is that it’s leaning towards another building which is being occupied. Tenants have already relocated to safe buildings.
The owner used cheap materials to cut costs,he also didn’t want the contractor to get tired,he instructed them to out up a shallow foundation.
This is the second building to collapse in Kinoo within two years.Luckily,it didn’t injure any human being.
